Classification & Flag State
Cutting through the red tape.
There are currently over 50 classification Societies in the world, with dozens of flags of convenience, and each has its own set of rules. All private vessels operated commercially have to be registered, and closely inspected by surveyors for the relevant classification society to ensure that they conform in every detail.
This is where Yacht Project Associates Limited can smooth the way, especially for owners who want to charter their vessels.
We have many years experience of working with classification societies, and the surveyors they use to inspect each project. We have an intimate knowledge of exactly what each classification society will require, whether it's Lloyds of London, Burea Veritas, Germanischer Lloyds or Registro Italiano Navale, to name but a few.
Our engineers and project managers work alongside the shipyard to ensure that a new build or refit conforms exactly to the required regulations before the work even begins, so the classification is as straightforward and inexpensive as possible.
We can also pre-inspect existing vessels to make sure they fully meet the regulations, and arrange everything from insurance to specialised radio licences for the crew. Our many years at the cutting edge of the charter business has shown us how to get things done quickly and efficiently.
If you want to register your vessel under a different flag, we can handle the transferring of flag state, and all the paperwork that goes with it. We can also advise on which classification society or flag state will be best for your particular requirements, and ensure the project fully conforms to the necessary regulations.
Let Yacht Project Associates Limited handle the burden of international red tape and classification, and if necessary, also make your vessel exceed the requirements with the high standard of our refits or engineering
