Finding the perfect pre-owned yacht can be a time consuming process, so to help owners - especially those new to yacht ownership - safely through to their dream yacht and a sound investment, we offer a comprehensive 'purchase advisor' service.
For a fixed fee, we will make finding their ideal pre-owned yacht as simple and enjoyable as possible, completely independent of brokers and agents. We use their services, but we don't work on commission - we work purely for the client.
We ask the client to tell us the type of yacht they are looking for, the size, the budget, the layout and any special requirements. We then narrow down the choices from our knowledge of the industry. This also includes some yachts that haven't even been advertised, and some we know will soon be on the market. We pride ourselves on our inside knowledge through our global network of contacts.
Once we have sourced a shortlist, we will recommend our findings to the client for them to visit at their convenience, and we then help them right through to the final deal.
If a client decides on a particular yacht, we then follow up with a much closer inspection. We use our years of practical experience to determine if the yacht is a good buy, or a goodbye. The standard of her maintenance, the age of her engines, their service history, the quality of her equipment, and dozens of other criteria are all taken into consideration. Our task is not to choose the owners boat for them, as that is very much a personal decision, but to help them avoid any costly mistakes.
Once all appears to be in order, we suggest what the yacht is worth, and if the owner wishes to go ahead, we will then arrange a full survey. This is a financial commitment, so we don't get to this stage unless convinced that the yacht is as ideal as possible.
We only use highly experienced and trusted surveyors with proven track records that we know personally. Depending on the outcome of the survey, we will then advise the client further, as any hidden defects will impact on the purchase price.
Because we act independently of brokers, we are free to recommend any yacht that meets the client's exact criteria. At the end of the day we ask ourselves 'Aesthetics aside, from an engineering and structural point of view, would we want to own this yacht ourselves.'
